Mary Webster--Miniatures Stock #5 PRESSED BRASS OVAL WITH CLASSICAL DETAILS
Circa 1810

Pressed brass over an oval base, which is shaped out of one piece of wood. The face of the frame is ornamented with gadrooning along the outside edge and beading near the sight edge. An old piece of wire serves as a hanger.
  • Rabbet size 5"H x 4"W plus allowance
  • Width of molding 7/8"
  • Depth at outside edge 3/4"
  • Condition: very good with minor wrinkles in the thin sheet of brass along the sight edge; faint traces of some old gold hobby paint.
